INDIA: Following JESUS

Over four years ago, the Lord put follow-up and training of new believers on my heart. It has been a long journey of faith, consisting of months of preparation and planning. As I write this today, I am in a remote village over two hours north of Mumbai, India. I am sitting behind the director and sound engineer as we are in the process of filming the follow-up video. As the director yelled “Action!” on the first day of filming, I have tears in my eyes as I saw this project that I have worked on for so long become a reality.

As we walk through the follow-up lessons, teaching principles from Scripture and answering some of the most frequently asked questions, my heart is overjoyed. I am watching the group of non-Christian actors clearly explain the fall of man, our need for salvation, who Jesus really is and how to have a relationship with Him. As they declare the Gospel message, their hearts are being softened.

Many of the cast and crew have asked questions about Jesus and what this video can mean to them. My teammate, Paul and I have had several great conversations with people on the set, explaining our faith and inviting them to accept Jesus as their Lord.

It is just a small taste of what is to come from this video. My prayer is that as this video is viewed by hundreds of millions of people, they will also sense God calling them to repentance, accept Jesus as Lord and walk with Him for the rest of their days.

Please pray for the editors as they begin to take over 25 hours of video and condense it into five 30 minute lessons that will go out into nearly every village in India. Pray that the Lord gives them wisdom and guidance as they do their work.

I have included several pictures from the filming of India’s “Following JESUS” here, to give you a sneak peak at the film’s setting and characters. Please continue to pray for this work as I now am shifting my focus from filming to a nation-wide roll out event, where I plan to invite representatives from every Christian organization working in India to attend. This will be instrumental in getting the word out about this tool, allowing it to spread widely among the Christian community, giving them an effective tool to teach new
believers with.

Also, please visit our website and listen to the theme song we had written for this video. It is a five verse prayer, each verse summarizing one of the lessons taught. We plan to release it soon on radio stations throughout India to raise curiosity and awareness of this video. (Currently, the lyrics are only in Hindi, but it is beautiful to listen to!)

Thank you once again for your prayers. As I travel, I am often in places that have strong physical and spiritual opposition to the Gospel. As I drove to the village and passed the numerous Hindu and Muslim temples, I prayed for His protection and grace. In this area of the world, countless things could have gone wrong during the filming, but thanks to God’s mercy and your prayers, we have very few incidents of physical or spiritual attacks. Your prayers are not only a comfort, but are vital to this work. They enable us to go into the enemy’s territory, keeping us free from harm. We could not accomplish this without you prayers for us. I can’t tell you how much it means to have you standing with us.
