India Follow-up Video Premieres

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your prayers. Eric returned home safely last week, after spending 12 days traveling throughout north India with 2 members of his team and 2 Indian Campus Crusade for Christ staff members. As they traveled from city to city, they held premieres in churches and halls for the first JESUS film follow-up video. The response was incredible.

Each premiere opened in prayer, then Eric was introduced to describe how this new video came into being. He explained how the Lord laid this burden on his heart and after two years of closely working with the Indian staff, it has now become a
reality. While in the 8 cities, participation ranged from 50 to 175 pastors. These pastors, sometimes traveled long distances to attend the meeting, each wanted to see and receive a copy of this video series.

In all, over 650 pastors attended these premieres and received copies of the new video series. At each premiere, Eric and his team would interview several of the pastors, to get their feedback on the video and to find out how they plan to use it in their ministry.

In Udaipur, Eric met Pastor Deepak Lal. Pastor Lal came to faith in Jesus at a JESUS film showing many years ago and has been working tirelessly for to reach out to Hindus in the area. He explained that over the last 15 years in ministry, he has planted 50 churches in the village area. Eric was in awe. Pastor Lal held up the follow-up video and continued, “Now that we have this tool, over the next 15 years, I plan on planting 500 churches!”

Pastors from almost every city that Eric visited shared about the challenges of reaching and teaching illiterate people in the villages. They shared with Eric that, “when people in the villages see people just like them, living out their faith in a village, it will become real to them. Christianity will no longer seem like a western religion. It will help us to connect with and teach them.” Our prayer is that this will help in continued follow-up and church planting efforts throughout all of India.

In addition, Eric is leaving on May 1st for a week in South Africa to meet with staff and finalize the script for the African follow-up video. Please pray for safe travel for him and the rest of the attendees. Also, please pray for wisdom so that that their work will result in a script that will touch the hearts of new believers throughout Africa, encouraging them to grow in their walk with Jesus.
