After 20 hours travel, I arrived safely in Bangalore, India for 3 days of meetings to discuss how to better train and equip new Christians. Thank you for praying for safe travel - I greatly appreciate your prayers!

In a land with over 1.2 billion people, worshipping upwards of 230 MILLION gods and goddesses in ornate temples like the one below, every day the Lord is bringing many people into relationship with Himself.
                    
Every day the Good News is being shared in hundreds of villages throughout India using the JESUS film. Over 700 Jesus film teams bring this film to the masses in India, proclaiming the Gospel and inviting all who hear it to turn from idolatry and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Then begins the process of teaching these new believers the basic doctrines of the Christian faith. The problem they face is that, just like in Jesus’ day, there is a shortage of laborers in the harvest fields. This, coupled with the 60-70% illiteracy rate, makes it a challenge to train them into strong disciples of Jesus who are able to face extreme persecution and reach out to their family and friends with the message of Jesus Christ.

This is the reason that I went to India—to help develop a video-based follow up tool to aid in the training of new believers—which will be used by our local staff in India to raise up an army for Jesus Christ.
                    
We had a full agenda for this meeting. In three days I wanted to isolate the 6-10 most needed lessons that a new Christian (coming from a Hindu background) needs to get a firm foundation in their new faith. In addition, we needed to create an outline for each lesson so I would be ready to begin the creation of this follow up video when I returned to the United States.

As the first day came to a close, we had determined what the 6 most needed lessons are, but were only able to get the first lesson outlined. I was beginning to think that I may need more time to complete the task. Thankfully, with the Lord’s help, over the next two days we not only were able to formulate an outline for 6 basic follow up lessons, but we discussed a plan for ongoing discipleship training of new believers.

It was a great time. It is always fantastic to see the Body of Christ work together. Even though we had never met, soon after we began to talk it felt like we had a special bond—that bond is the common bond of having Jesus as our Lord. All of our differences— culture, language, taste in food, were put aside and we were able to work as brothers, attempting to follow our Father’s leading in reaching out to our new family members. It was a special time.
                              
Praise the Lord that we were able to get all 6 basic lessons outlined during the three days. In addition, we isolated 12 additional intermediate lessons that we will create in the future to further instruct and equip new
believers.

Now comes the fun part! I am starting the process of developing the outlines we wrote into full scripts and selecting pictures from the
JESUS film that will coordinate with the different teachings. Please pray for my team as we being this process. We definitely need the Lord’s direction for this project.
