Praises:

Eric had a safe, fruitful trip to Malaysia. He
connected with new people and is excited to help another area of the world with their need for discipleship resources!

Prayer Requests:

Eric’s back has been out since he got home from this trip. He has several disks in his back that are pushing against his spine, causing extreme pain. He was on the couch from 5/25—6/1. Please pray for complete healing and that he would recover quickly.

Please pray for members of Eric’s team who are traveling to Budapest and India in June. Pray for safe travel and that their meetings with staff would be productive.

Verse of the Month:

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matt 5:10-12

Malaysia Trip Update

Eric returned safely from his trip to Malaysia. He had a productive time meeting with 110 Campus Crusade staff and college student leaders from 10 nations in Southeast Asia. They gathered to discuss how to reach young adults in their region and help them be effective ministers of the Gospel throughout their lifetime, regardless of what profession they choose.

Eric spoke to them about the “Anime’” project (animated JESUS film) and what the staff need for effective follow-up of new believers in their region. He was invited to give the devotional on Sunday morning and was thrilled with the opportunity to do so. He is excited about the chance to begin working with this region and looks forward to helping them design a curriculum that will lead to dedicated followers of Jesus who can go out and reach millions of souls with the Gospel. Please pray for the Christians in the region—they are under constant persecution. Several are now in prison for sharing their faith. Pray for them and their families.

Eric often is asked about the food that he eats while he travels. He enjoys trying new foods and we wanted to give you an idea of some of the food that he ate on this trip. Every meal included rice—and lots of it. Breakfast included rice soup, spicy noodles and chicken. Fish was in practically every dish, which was a challenge since Eric is not a fan of fish. In addition, the staff had him try several fruit from the area. The first one is called “durion.” It has a hard, spiky outside and a soft, cheese-like middle. It smells and tastes like sweet moldy cheese. It is a favorite of the locals and every visitor should try it. Next was rambuton, a small red fruit with green stalks. It was delicious. dragon fruit, a purple fruit that grows on a cactus was also delicious. The last was mangostein, a small fruit that tastes similar to a pear.

The trip was great. He hopes to have a rough draft of the Anime’ video for them in a year. Please continue to pray for the project as they move forward.

We updated our website!

We now have a photo gallery where you can see some pictures from our trips and watch a clip from Following JESUS—both the African and Indian versions! We also added an adoption blog, where you can get current information on our adoption journey and know exactly how to pray for us as we continue pursuing having a family. Check it out at www.ericandallison.org
