Kenya

The time has finally come! This month, we are headed to Nairobi, Kenya to
lead a conference to discuss the creation of two follow-up video series for African believers. Kenya is a country in Eastern Africa (See map).

We are trying to get a diverse sampling of ideas and experience on how to best follow-up and train new believers throughout Africa.

There are 15 missionaries, from 12 different countries within Africa coming to the conference in Nairobi. We are all working together to create the outline for the follow up videos that have a potential audience of approximately 3/4 of a billion!

We covet your prayers as we make our final preparations for the conference.

We have included a prayer calendar for you here with a prayer request listed for each day that we are traveling. We ask that you would print this calendar and use it as a reminder to pray for us, the conference and the success of the video series.

We anticipate that God is going to use this conference and the resulting videos to build His kingdom stringer and faster within Africa.

We are also looking forward to showing the JESUS film in some villages while we are there. Please pray for those who attend the showings—that the Lord will convict their hearts and draw them into relationship with Himself. It is a privilege to go and we look forward to giving you a report when we return.

Other Updates

New York Flooding

Please keep our family and friends living in central New York in your prayers. Over the last few weeks, there has been tremendous flooding and many people have experienced damage to their homes. The pictures of the damage look comparable to pictures of Katrina—homes and buildings flooded, bridges washed out and part of a main highway destroyed.

Thankfully, our family is safe and they did not have much damage, but others did not fare as well. Please pray that the rains would stop, that the waters will recede quickly and that they will be able to quickly clean up without a great deal of expense.

Book Pre-order

Many of you have asked about the status of Eric’s book, “Destiny of Discipleship” and how you can get a copy. We are happy to report that it has been sent to the printer and we should receive them this month.

We want to make them available to you, our partners before they are in the bookstores! If you would like to pre-order a copy of his book, you can click here to fill out a pre-order form. We ask that you fill out the form and send us your donation, made out to Campus Crusade for Christ. If you are a monthly partner, please make this check seperate from your regular donation.
We will send you a copy as soon as they arrive.

The funds raised from the sale of this book will go to help support our work with the JESUS film. We ask that you consider giving a donation of $15 for the book, to help us cover the cost of the book and the postage.

We pray that this book will be a blessing to those who read it—that it will help new believers to grow in their faith, and to challenge mature Christians to trust God with every area of their daily lives.
