Praises:

That all of the
details are falling into place for the training in Nairobi

That the Lord never leaves us and wants the best for us

Prayer Requests:

That we would clearly sense the Lord’s direction in our adoption
process

That we will
glorify Him in the process

For safe travel to and from Nairobi

That this training will be a catalyst in spreading His Kingdom across the earth

Verse of the month:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Cor 13:4-8a

Feeling His Love, Seeking His Will

Dear friend,

Thank you so much for your continued prayers for us. We covet your prayers as we leave for the 10 days of teaching in Nairobi, Kenya. We are praying that the Lord will enable us and the other presenters to cover a lot of ground during this conference. We are expecting over 60 African
missionaries and pastors to attend, each wanting to be trained on how to use an incredible new software program that will aid them tremendously in producing follow-up materials. Our goal is to enable them to produce quality follow-up resources in 1000 languages in the next 3 years. We know the enemy will not like it, so please pray for us and for those attending. We will give you a detailed update on the results of the training next month!

We also wanted to update you on the adoption progress. Our journey seems to have been
temporarily stopped. We spoke with the adoption agency yesterday. They have investigated several other country programs for us, and all of them have said that they won’t accept our application. As you can imagine, we were extremely saddened by the news. Though we know that the Lord has something in mind for us, it still doesn’t take away from the pain and hurt that we experienced by hearing “no.” We are continuing to trust His goodness and are seeking Him for our next steps.

Please pray that HE will clearly guide us to the door that needs to be knocked on next. Please pray that through the process, we will glorify Him and He will change our hearts to be more like His as we wait upon Him and trust Him through the uncertainty. We know that our relationship with Him and becoming more like Him is what matters to Him most – not the end result to the
situation He has allowed. We continue to trust Him and desire to walk in His steps, not our own. We know that He loves us with an unfailing love and desires the best for us.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we walk through this, hand in hand, with our great and awesome God. God bless you mightily! We love you!

Seeing is Believing

We also wanted to share an encouraging story with you. A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of having a friend of ours, Sonya, come over for dinner. We have known Sonya for several years. She is a missionary with African Inland Mission, working in Madagascar.

We had a great time and were able to see some of her pictures from her 2 years in Madagascar, working with a local village there. You could see and hear the love that she had for this group of people as she told stories and shared experiences with us.

She showed us pictures of a group of new believers being baptized in the river and shared the story of how this came to be. She told us that for 2 years, she and the other missionaries would tell Bible stories, share the Gospel message and work with the local villagers to help them to understand what Jesus had done for them. Finally, the JESUS film was translated in the local language and they got a copy. They showed it in the village a few months before she came back to the U.S.

At the close of the first film showing in the village, about 30 people raised their hand and indicated that they wanted to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior! It was amazing to Sonya and her team because before that, practically no one in the village seemed interested in what they shared. When one of the village elders was asked why he decided to accept Jesus, he replied, “For two years we heard you talk about this, but it did not make sense to us. Now that we have seen it for ourselves, we believe.”

Praise the Lord for what He is doing through the JESUS film and for this new community of
believers. Since then, another group has been baptized, there is a local church planted and the new believers are being fed through the preaching of God’s Word! It is awesome to see Him work!
