Praises:
For His provision in our lives and our ministry
For the doors that He opened for Eric to go to India
That Allison is feeling good!
Prayer Requests:
For safe travel to and from India for all those attending the meetings
That He will give us wisdom as we meet together and that He will lead
the conversations
For wisdom for us as we continue to pursue treatment for Allison, and
for her healing
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe
all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Imagine that your supervisor came to you
and offered you a promotion—you would be starting a new corporate office
in a different country. You would need to move your family there and begin
your work immediately. I imagine that you would have mixed emotions. On
one hand you would be excited about the opportunity to advance your career
but would undoubtedly miss your family and friends.
On your first trip to tour the new area, you try to find a church to attend
on Sunday. You scour the town you’re in to no avail. You ask everyone
you see where the nearest church is and they look at you with a blank
stare. “Church?” they ask. “What do you mean?”
It doesn’t take you long to figure out that you are the only Christian
in a sea of unbelievers. How will you continue to grow in your faith?
How will you keep your walk with Jesus from slipping in an area where
you have no one to lean on? How will you make sure your kids have a good
Christian foundation?
This is the sad reality for millions of new believers worldwide. Last
month I shared with you about Jibbi– a peanut farmer from The Gambia that
I had the privilege of teaching about principles of the Christian faith.
He is alone. He is the only Christian in a village of hundreds of Muslims,
desperate to learn more about Jesus and how to walk with Him.

On February 3rd, I am leaving for Bangalore,
India. (highlighted with the arrow above) I will be leading a 3 day meeting
of several missionaries and pastors from Africa and India. We will be
discussing people just like Jibbi—new believers that have no pastor, no
church to attend, no other believers to rely on. They can’t read but are
hungry to know more. How do we effectively teach these brothers and sisters?
As you know, I am working on the team that is producing a video teaching
series for the JESUS film. For several years, Campus
Crusade staff and other missionaries from around
the world have been asking for a follow up video to be created, using
the pictures from the JESUS film. It will be an answer to their prayers.
I have a couple of goals for this meeting in India. The first is to ask
each of the missionaries what they are currently using to successfully
follow up new believers. We want to incorporate the best techniques into
our video and we don’t want to have to recreate the wheel.
The second goal is to know from them what the most needed lessons are
for this follow up video in their area. This answer will change for each
area of the world. As you can imagine, a Muslim will have different questions
than a Hindu when they come to faith in Jesus.
The overall goal for the 3 days is to identify these needs for each of
the 10-15 areas of the world we are focusing on and get a video outline
created for each area. It is a huge goal for 3 days of work, but the Lord
is good and He can do it!
Please pray that everyone attending the conference will have safe travel
to and from India and that the time there will be supernaturally productive.
It is so important that we get outlines created for the videos
so when I get back to the US I can begin working on production.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of our work. It is a
joy to be serving with you to build the Kingdom and see Him glorified.
Be blessed,
Eric
and Allison
