As Leslie boarded the plane for her trip to Colorado, she was excited and nervous at the same time. The last few years have been a roller coaster ride. She graduated from college, interned with Campus Crusade for Christ, spent a year in the workplace and wondered what her next step would now be. To her surprise, she sensed God calling her to full time ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ and to continue in her passion of mentoring new believers on the college campus in their walk with the Lord.

Following her calling was not easy and came with a cost. Her parents thought she was crazy to “waste” her college education on something that wasn’t her major. They even wondered if she was joining a cult. Over the upcoming year, she will have to trust God to provide completely for her financially, as all Campus Crusade staff do. This is something that she saw God do as an intern, but would He do it again for years to come? Would she be able to meet enough people and be bold enough to challenge them to invest in her ministry to college students?

This story is a little different than the ones we normally share about our work with creating follow-up tools for The JESUS Film. I (Allison), have recently taken on another job responsibility – being a “support coach.” It is something that I have wanted to do for two years, and God has finally “filled the desires of my heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

During my time in Colorado, I assisted in training twenty-five new CCC staff on how to raise financial support. We had a great group of people who are strong in their faith and firm in their calling to help change lives.

I will be coaching two single women and one newly married couple as they trust God to
provide the financial and prayer partners they need to begin their ministry with Campus
Crusade for Christ. Each week I will teach and encourage them, counseling them during this emotional time where their faith will be stretched and blessed. I am honored and humbled to be able to serve the Lord and these precious brothers and sisters in this way.

As I looked at the new staff, I couldn’t help but think of you! You have been so faithful to support us on many levels, and because of your partnership, it is as if YOU are the one going to India and Africa to create follow-up materials to help new believers in their faith. Now,
because of the work God is calling me to do, you are not only helping new believers overseas, but are helping to reach people right here in our own backyard! Because you have enabled me to serve in this way, we have helped 25 brothers and sisters get training so that they can reach college students in New York, California, Hawaii, Arizona and beyond! Isn’t that INCREDIBLE?? Thank you so much!!

Finally, I want to give you an update on the adoption.
Our paperwork has been certified by the state of Florida. This week we will send it to San Francisco for certification from the Vietnamese embassy. Then, we can send it to
Vietnam. We are thankful to finally have the ball rolling. Please pray with us that we can get our paperwork to Vietnam by the end of the summer, if not before. Also, on August 11th we will be attending a full day parenting training class in Tampa at our adoption agency. We are really excited! Thank you for praying for us.
