African Follow-up Video Update After many hours of travel, we arrived safely
in Nairobi, Kenya. We were tired but excited, looking forward to what
the Lord was planning to do at this conference. American missionaries have developed resources for overseas ministry for years. Most of these tools were developed without any input from the overseas ministries that would be responsible to use them. As a result, they often were not as effective as they could have been and sit unused on a shelf. We decided early on in the design process that we would look to the expertise of our international staff to co-produce this follow-up video. They know the needs of their people, they know how to explain concepts so people will best understand them and they will be more likely to use the finished product if they were given the chance to shape it. Our goal is not just to create a video, but to create a video that is widely used and changes many lives. So, even though Eric was leading the meeting, his job was not to give input on the content, but to draw the content out of the staff, shaping this tool from their experience, not our ideas. The result was amazing. We outlined 12 lessons that a new believer needs to learn that will enable them to cultivate their new faith, teaching them to truly live for Jesus every day and equip them to share their faith with others. The ultimate goal is to build spiritual movements throughout Africa, giving everyone in Africa a chance to hear the Gospel, accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, beginning an intimate, daily walk with Him. Many of the staff thanked us for coming and organizing this conference, giving them a chance to be involved in creating a video to reach their people. David Jatta, Campus Crusade’s leader in The Gambia, West Africa, said, “This is such a needed resource. We don’t have the people or materials to do all the needed follow-up. Many of us have great ideas for discipleship, but don’t sit down and do it. You have helped us think about these issues, work together and start this project. It will be years before you know the total impact this will have in the Kingdom.” It is overwhelming to think about the potential that this video has. We feel very blessed and humbled to be a part of the process. Thank you for your continued partnership in our ministry, enabling us to do this work! Other Updates Indian Follow-up Video For several months, I have been interviewing script writers
for the Indian follow-up video. It has been a long process, but thankfully,
the Lord has brought a wonderful Christian woman to us. She is originally
from India, has extensive experience in TV and movie production and has
a heart to use the parables of Jesus to teach people how to live out their
faith. The Lord is so good! Thank you for praying!
We have moved! (our new address is above) As you know, we are praying for the Lord to bless us with
children. We are thanking the Lord because He has enabled us to buy a
home that will give us the needed room when He decides to bless us in
this way. It is in a better school district than where we were. And, as
a bonus, it is closer to work and friends. Thank you again for your partnership in our ministry and
lives. God bless you,
